This book is both a guide to the installation (installation) and a guide for the novice to Linux. This means that the book may be of interest to the person for whom the word for UNIX is something new and those who already have some experience. There is information about how to get Linux, like its install, educational materials for newcomers to the UNIX and introduction to system administration. This implies that the book examines all with enough common ground to allow its use with different distributions of Linux.
