Product Description
32.1 To determine chromium in steel, 50.0 cm3 of K2CrO4 solution were obtained from a 0.0585 g sample after appropriate processing. The relative optical density of this solution, measured with respect to the reference solution (10.0 cm3 of K2CrO4 solution in 50.0 cm3 of water with T(K2CrO4)=0.00135 g/cm3) was found to be equal to 0.75. The relative optical densities of four standard solutions containing 5.0, 6.0, 8.0 and 9.0 cm3 of KMnO4 solution in 50.0 cm3, measured with respect to the same reference solution, were found to be equal to 1.014, 0.76, 0.51, 0.25, respectively. Determine the chromium content in steel.
