Product Description
20. A cadmium sulfide sol was obtained by mixing equal volumes of Na2S and Cd(NO3)2 solutions. The coagulation thresholds for different electrolytes have the following values (in mol/dm3): Ck(Cd(NO3)2)=265; Ck(NaCl)=250; Ck(MgCl2)=290; Ck(Na3PO4)=0.4; Ck(Na2SO4)=15 Ck(AlCl3)=300. Which of the electrolytes, Na2S or Cd(NO3)2, was taken in excess to prepare the sol? Give reasons for your answer. Write the formula for a hydrophobic micelle of the sol.
