Product Description
5. As a result of the interaction of formaldehyde with hydrogen peroxide, formic acid is formed (second-order reaction):
HCHO+H2O2=HCOOH+H2O
If you mix equal volumes of H2O2 and HCHO solutions with a concentration of 0.5 M, then after 2
hours at a temperature of 333 K, the concentration of formic acid becomes equal to 0.214
mol/l. Calculate the reaction rate constant and determine after what time 90% of the initial substances will react.
