Product Description
9. To determine the amount of chloracone released from the drug tablet into the hydrochloric acid medium (“dissolution” test), the drug tablet containing m grams of chloracone is placed in a “rotating basket” device immersed in 0.1 mol / l HCl with a volume of 500 ml. 45 min after the start of the test, the solution is filtered and its optical density A(X) is determined at 257 nm. In parallel, under the same conditions (at 257 nm in a cuvette with the same thickness of the absorbing layer), the optical density A(st) of a standard solution of chloracone with a concentration c(st), g/ml is measured.
Derive the following formula to calculate the amount of chloracone W in percent that has gone into solution; W,% \u003d A (X) * s (X) * 500 * 100 / A (X) * m
where m is the mass of chloracone (in grams) contained in one tablet.
