Product Description
3. Explain the following observations. Under the action of H2S on solutions containing Ag(NH3)2 and Ag(CN)2- ions, respectively, a black precipitate precipitates. The action of KI causes the separation of a yellow precipitate only from the first solution. When NaCl is added, the formation of precipitates does not occur. How can one explain the difference in the stability of Ag(NH3)2 and Ag(CN)2- complexes? Support your answer with calculations.
