Product Description
42. After 1 liter of a suspension of calcium carbonate in water (the specific electrical conductivity of a saturated solution of CaCO3 is 0.00080 Sm·m–1), 100 liters (N.O.) of air were passed through. The specific electrical conductivity of the system increased to 0.0135 Sm•m–1 due to the formation of soluble calcium bicarbonate. Determine the volume fraction (%) of carbon monoxide (IV) in the air. The values of the molar conductivity of ions are taken equal to their mobilities at infinite dilution: λ°(Ca2+) = 0.00595 Sm•m2•mol–1, λ°(HCO3-) = 0.00445 Sm•m2•mol–1.
